Had a lot of fun taking picture this week to demonstrate my mastery of various functions of the digital camera. I got some great pictures of friends, as well as my apartment building, and I even learned a little more about my camera. ^_^ So check it out: http://plaza.ufl.edu/knewhous/digimastery
I also created an account on bloglines.com Up until now I’ve been using MyYahoo but this is so much easier and had much better features. Once I have a little time for playing with it I’ll try to jazz it up and turn it into a page to call home! http://www.bloglines.com/public/actsoup
Still working on my Teaching Tool for the photography class, as well as the website review. Also did a whole lot of work on a Social Studies Essay Test book that I’ve been doing layouts for.
Other than that just getting ready for my face to face class starting on Tuesday on Media in Literacy. I’ll update when I have the teaching tool and website review complete.

Hey Keith!
Thanks for the advice on my blog! I’m actually going to be interning at Littlewood Elementary this fall in a 3rd grade classroom and I’m really excited about getting the experience working in an older elementary classroom. As far as technology goes, I really think I want to create a bunch of webquests over the summer to use when I teach during the fall, but I”m not sure this is the right type of technology to be including in my teaching. Do you think webquests are good for 3rd graders or should I create more knowledge hunts? Also, have you ever created a virtual field trip? I think they would be a ton of fun to create and I think kids would love playing with them. Have any suggestions?
talk to you later,
Mary

Hi Keith - It sounds like you’ll have a busy and productive summer!!! I cannot wait to hear about the Media in Literacy course.
The next time you type a URL in a post try making it a link. Use the link button that looks just like the one you’d use in an HTML editor. Then, we’d be able to easily get to other pages.
Keep up the good work. -KD

Hey Keith,
Yea I worked with J Boyer over at PK. He’s a good guy. He’s more than willing to help anyone that wants to use his carts full of technology. I mostly used projectors, the 6 computers in the classroom, and “turning point”. The latter is a program which runs through powerpoint. It runs allows each student to answer multiple choice questions through remote controls. I liked it a lot. Jeff was very helpful, as was everyone at PK.
